Viviana Marie Orrego-Barrera

Viviana Maria Orrego-Barrera, 44, of Guilford, died Tuesday, October 11th, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends in Guilford, CT. She is survived by her beloved children Jesly Diaz, and Oscar Diaz. 

Viviana was born to Gustavo Orrego and Blanca Barrera, in Barbosa Medellin, Colombia, on December 31st, 1977. She grew up in Barbosa, graduating from Liceo Jose Manuel Caicedo at age 18

Viviana was a devoted mother 
and loyal friend. She would go to the greatest lengths to help anyone in need, despite her own adversities. There was no length she wouldn’t go to help someone in need. She also had a passion for dancing. You could always find Viviana on the dance floor with a smile on her face. She was known for “animando la gente” or the life of the party. 

She was the owner of Vivan’s Cleaning Service LLC. She was also a dedicated member of the St. Louis Church of St. John XXIII Parish. 

In addition to her children and parents, Viviana is survived by her brother Edison Orrego of West Haven; and sisters Elizabeth Orrego of Guilford, and Astrid Orrego  of East Haven; as well as 3 nieces and 4 nephews, treating them each as if they were her own, taking them in as well as caring for them with love and support. 

Her family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00 a.m to 1:00pm on Friday, October 14th, at Maresca & Sons Funeral Home, at 592 Chapel St. New Haven, CT 06511. Following the Wake, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. that Friday at St. Louis Church of St. John XXIII Parish at 89 Bull Hill Ln, West Haven CT 06516. 

Viviana Maria Orrego-Barrera’s life is remembered in her aspiration to help others in the Latino community, and will always be remembered as one who spread kindness, love, and generosity.
