Vincent Edmund Cirillo, 74, of West Haven, died Monday, December 28, 2020, at Saint Raphael Hospital, surrounded by his loving brother and family friends. Vincent was born in New Haven, December 30, 1945, a son of the late Vincent Cirillo and Josephine Corda Cirillo. As a social worker, he worked for the Connecticut Department of Social Services for over 33 years, retiring in 2000. He was an active member of Saint Lawrence Parish and contributed to various charities. Vincent had a fondness for animals, owning and caring for numerous beagles throughout his life. He enjoyed collegiate and professional sports, loved both Yale and UCONN, and especially enjoyed watching Red Sox baseball and New Jersey Devils hockey. Vincent served as the coach for his work softball team and an unofficial cheerleader for many others. He is survived by his brother, John C. Cirillo of West Haven; his nieces: Bernadette M. Niedermeier, of The Villages FL; Vincia J. Caruso, of Hamden; Keri Ann Barton, of Wallingford; and several grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Anna Maria Cirillo. Vincent’s funeral will be held Tuesday, 10:00 am, at Saint Michael’s, New Haven. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
