Shirley Ann (Lenzi) Persico

Entered into rest, April 5, 2020. Shirley Ann Lenzi Persico, 82, of East Haven; wife of the late Frank “Champ” Persico; mother of Ralph, Richard and Michael (Susan) Persico; sister of Adelyne (Addie)Carone Evelyn(Louis) Severino, the late Margaret Sortito, Eugene and Joseph Lenzi; also survived by 7 grandchildren, Michael, Stefan, Erin, Daniel, Richard, Joseph and Andrew and many loving nieces and nephews. She was born in new Haven June 29, 1937 daughter of the late Diamond and Lillian Johnson Lenzi and had worked for  the Bank of America.

Shirley was a true homemaker who excelled in cooking, baking, needlework and decorating her home. An excellent dancer, she loved to have a good time enjoying the company of family and friends.  She enjoyed her home at Tivoli Gardens where she made many new friends and loved spending time in the gazebo. Our family is extremely grateful to her two special friends and neighbors, Dolores Gonsalves and Grace Gerard for their love and support to Shirley during many difficult times. Above all she loved her sons, their wives and grandchildren.

A memorial mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael's Church 29 Wooster Pl. New Haven  at on Thursday September 3, 2020 at 11:30 a.m.  followed by burial in All Saints Cemetery.
