Entered into rest, Dec. 20, 2021, Rose Casanova Nuremberg, 97, of North Haven; wife of the late Walter Alfred Nuremberg. She is survived by her children Karen Nuremberg, Ilona (Thomas) Sansone and Walter Kurt Nuremberg, 8 grandchildren Kimberley Tranquilli , Jennifer (William) Lee, Janet (Mat) Schulist , Thomas (Lena) Sansone, Michael (Courtney) Sansone, Kara (Sean) McLaughin , Eric and Walter J. Nuremberg and 7 great-grandchildren, a brother Joseph Casanova and sister Concetta Casanova; predeceased by her parents James and Anna Fiorillo Casanova and her beloved brother Pasquale Casanova. Rose attended nursing school, secretarial school and was on her way to become an airline stewardess when her friend arranged for her to meet the love of her life, Walter Alfred Nuremberg in his hometown of New Milford. They were married for 54 years. She was full of energy and had a passion for living and traveled with her husband throughout the 50 states, the Caribbean and Europe. Her sense of style guided her to always present her best self and be well dressed.
Friends are invited to go directly to St. Michael’s Church 29 Wooster Pl. New Haven to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
