Robert Fasanella Obituary

Robert A. Fasanella, 65, passed away peacefully at his home in New Ipswich, NH on Saturday, January 6, 2024. He was born October 16, 1958, in New Haven, Connecticut to parents Marion.
(Henry) and Rocko Fasanella. Bob’s early years were spent fishing with his father, rooting for the Yale football team and ski trips with his older brother George. Summers were for swimming at The Paugusett Club with his buddies and time on his mother’s family farm in upstate NY. Thus, was instilled an early love for sport and the outdoors that carried through his entire life. He attended Amity High School (76) and filled his spare time with the swim and track team. Following high school, he attended Duke University, studying economics and was a faithful Blue Devil basketball fan. He attended Vermont Law School (86) and completed his Juris Doctorate as well as a master's in studies of law.

Post graduation, Bob moved to Boston and worked at McGregor, Shea and Doliner, specializing in Environmental and Land Use Law. Several years later he started his own firm,
Fasanella, Johnson and Wood. Following a merger and partnership at Rubin and Rudman, he continued practicing Environmental and Land Use Law for over 20 years until his passing.

Bob was a fourth-generation owner of Henry Hill Farm in Howes Cave, NY. Originally a dairy farm, he developed it into a tree farm and event space, undertaking large scale restorations of
the barn, fields and wetlands. Throughout his life, Bob was a true all-season outdoorsman. He enjoyed skiing, windsurfing, hiking, tennis and more. His 30+ years in coastal Scituate, MA provided him with plenty of exposure to water sports of all kinds. While in Scituate he volunteered for town boards as well as professional organizations. A world traveler, some of his favorite destinations were Bermuda numerous spots in the Caribbean, and trips to Italy to connect with his roots. He was probably happiest on the slopes and skied throughout New England and many mountains of the West.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Abigail (Crump) Fasanella of New Ipswich, NH; his daughter Cecily Fasanella of Washington, DC; his sisters Marion (Richard) Petrelli of CT, Anne Fasanella
of CT; Kathy Fasanella of FL; sister-in-law Lisa Greco of FL; his nieces Elizabeth (Ben) Elesh; Courtney (Eric) McCarthy; nephew Conor McCarthy and a great nephew Alex Elesh all of NY.
He is predeceased by his parents as well as brothers George (Lisa) and Paul.
