Ralph Raymond Carrano Obituary

Entered into rest on April 2, 2020, Ralph Raymond "Sonny" Carrano,88, brother of the late Lucia Carrano, Madeline "Lena" Carrano, Rose Manciero, Alphonse, Joseph(Tom Mix), Matthew and Andrew Carrano, Marie Bottone and Lucille Ann Carrano.  He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in New Haven on February 6, 1932, son of the late Joseph and Raffaella Calamita Carrano and  was a lifelong resident of New Haven.  Ray (Sonny) graduated from Wilbur Cross High School and then worked most of his life serving his community by helping people find employment. Sonny was an avid  New York Yankee baseball and  UCONN basketball fan.  Ray loved to ride his bike for many hours visiting several towns & bike trails. Frank Sinatra "my man" was his favorite singer. Ray made his friends laugh with his joke telling and always brought a smile to their face.  He was a parishioner of St. Michael Church and was a member of the Neighborhood Athletic Club.

Private graveside services and burial  were held  Saint Lawrence Cemetery. A memorial mass of Christian Burial will take place in the Church of Saint Michael at a later date. MARESCA & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 592 CHAPEL STREET is in charge of arrangements.
