Entered into rest at his home in Orange, CT on November 8, 2022, Paul Leonard Amore,90, husband of the late Dorothy J. Pendred Amore; father of Carmel Amore Blakeman and Roberta Amore Bernstein (Robert); brother of Annette Florio, “Poppy” to Rebecca Jean Bernstein, a Junior in the Honors Program at the University of Maryland. Born in New Haven on May 12, 1932, son of the late Joseph and Carmel Giuliano Amore, he was educated at St. Michael Grammar School, Hillhouse High School where he played football and baseball, and was awarded a scholarship to Arnold College where he majored in Physical Education. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict; while in the Service he attended Military Police School and was attached to the Criminal Investigation Dept. of the US Army. Prior to retirement he was employed as a technician with SNET. He was a member of the American Legion in Orange and St. Andrew Apostle Society, serving on the Board of Directors. He was proud of his Italian Heritage; his pastimes included sharing his memories with his granddaughter about Wooster St. in the olden days and enjoying the company of his family and friends.
Friends and family may call on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the MARESCA & SONS FUNERAL HOME 592 Chapel St.. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church on Saturday at 10 am. Entombment in St. Lawrence Cemetery Garden Mausoleum.
