Entered into rest, Dec. 27, 2021, Norma Pearl Puglia Argus, 85, former long- time resident of Orange, CT; wife of the late Ronald P. Argus; beloved mother of Denise (Dean) Fantarella, Lisa and Sheri Argus; loving grandmother of Courtney, Tyler and Colby Fantarella and Arianna Astrom; sister of Joyce Calarco and the late Bruno Puglia; aunt of Cali Calarco, Terri and Rindi Puglia.
Norma was born on July 17, 1936 to the late Michael and Sylvia Leonardi Puglia who emigrated from Italy and relocated in New Haven where she grew up. She graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1954 and from New Haven State Teachers College (now SCSU) in 1958. She taught elementary school in West Haven for 5 years. After raising her daughters she returned to work in the finance department of American Cancer Society where she retired after 25 years. Norma was a parishioner of Holy Infant Church serving on the social ministry committee. She enjoyed arts, crafts, knitting, crocheting and had a passion for couponing. Most important to her was spending time with her family and friends. Friends may call at the MARESCA & SONS FUNERAL HOME 592 Chapel St. New Haven on Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Infant Church, Orange at 11:30 a.m. Interment in Orange Center Cemetery.
