Nicholas P. DeMusis, 97, of Elim Park Place, Cheshire, died January 17, 2022, He was born in New Haven, July 24, 1924, the youngest son of the late Nicholas and Mary P. DiPino DeMusis. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a proud graduate of Quinnipiac College, majoring in accounting. Nicholas was the Chief Financial Officer of Marlin Firearms Co. for 41 years until his retirement in 1993. Nick spent many of his retirement years caring lovingly for his family. He was an active and lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Church in New Haven, serving the parish for decades as a lector, council member, and trustee. Nicholas was an avid walker who still walked daily into his 90’s. He was noted for his sense of humor and wit and was beloved by all who knew him. He loved to sketch and paint by watercolor and was well known for his original and witty birthday cards that he made for friends and family. He was a passionate sports fan, especially for his two favorite teams, the New York Yankees and the UConn womens’ basketball team. Nicholas is survived by his nieces Jane (Steven) Harrington, Mary Ann (Jose) Moreno, and Karen Antill and his nephew Ralph DeMusis, and his great nieces, Kathy Pender, Joanna (Shawn) Rocco and Sara (Jeremy) Howell and their children. He was preceded in death by his brothers Michael, Andrew, Ralph and Salvatore and his sister Rose DeMusis.His family will receive visitors from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday at MARESCA & SONS FUNERAL HOME 592 Chapel St., New Haven. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church 129 Edwards St. New Haven at 11 a.m. , followed by entombment in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
