Maria Luisa Obdulia "Abby" Carvente Morales, age 55, died unexpectedly on March 18, 2021. She was born on August 19, 1965 in Zacatelco, Tlaxcala, Mexico, and lived in New Haven for the past 20 years. Abby was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was an avid cook and loved to share her delicious recipes. She was a breast cancer survivor and lent her strength and optimism to everyone she met. Her devotion to the Lord guided everything she did. Abby's greatest love was her family. She is survived by her mother, Teodora Morales, of Mexico; her children, Luis David Martinez Carvente (Jessica McWilliams), of Clinton, and Noemi Martinez Carvente, of Mexico; her brothers, Beto Carvente, of Madison, Noe Carvente, of Madison, and Nicolas Carvente, of Mexico; her sister, Rosalinda Carvente Morales, of Mexico; her grandsons, Alexander Martinez, Jonathan Martinez, and Nathaniel Martinez, of Clinton; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Nicolas Carvente Perez. . A mass of celebration will be held on Wednesday, March 31, at 4:00 pm in Our Lady of Guadelupe Parish in St. Francis Church, 397 Ferry Street, New Haven. Burial will take place in Mexico
