Anthony F. Pontecorvo, Jr. of Branford passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Born in New Haven on June 1, 1951, he was the son
of the late Anthony and Jennie (Petronzi) Pontecorvo.
Tony, as he liked to be called, was a graduate of Hamden High School and Boston College. He was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed
viewing Boston College football and basketball. Tony spent most of his professional life in sales, always enjoying interaction with clients. Later in life he formed his own company as a successful vendor of exercise equipment.
Tony was a loving son, brother, and uncle as well as a loyal friend. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Louise and husband Robert Delaney. He is survived by his sister Esther DeLucia and her husband Robert; his nephew Kevin Delaney;nieces Sarah Bierman and husband Bradford and Katherine Dall and husband James; and nephew Christopher DeLucia and wife Sarah. He especially enjoyed the company of his great-nieces and nephews, Michael and Dennin Delaney; Tyler, Paige, and Ellie Bierman; Henry, Hollis, and Harley Dall; and Genevieve DeLucia. He was also fortunate to have a loyal group of wonderful friends too numerous to mention.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, 29 Wooster Place, New Haven, on Friday, November 12, at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
