When and where the funeral services are to be held are among the first things the family must decide. They may take place in church, at home, or at The Governor’s Home. Maresca & Sons, with a complete knowledge of what must be done, will cooperate in every way possible to help the family reach a decision and will handle all arrangements in order to relieve the family of the numerous responsibilities of the funeral.
The funeral ceremony lasting over one or more days allows for relatives and friends to pay their respects, offer comfort to survivors and to say goodbye to someone who has meant something special to them. Often there is a visitation and a religious service. During this time you and your family members will share and express your feelings and emotions. It is in this sharing with others, that you are not alone with your grief. Accept consolation, comfort and support in whatever personal way it is offered. The final disposition of earth burial, mausoleum entombment or cremation concludes the ceremony. |

When funeral arrangements must unexpectedly be made away from home, Maresca & Sons Funeral Home will assist you in any way that we can.
WHAT TO DO FIRST
Call us at (203) 624-3411 day or night. It is not usually necessary for you to contact an out-of-state funeral home. We can do this for you. We will make the arrangements necessary to transport the deceased to the out-of-state funeral home for embalming, preparation, and return to Connecticut. We will need some basic information from you, and we will ask you to call us upon your return to Connecticut to set a time for an arrangement conference. | |
